M503航路於29日正式啟用，中華科技大學航空服務管理系主任李彌28日向《旺報》表示，這條航路的軍事意義不大，大陸軍機真要飛過來，就算從福建也很快就到了。現在看起來台灣內部對M503航路的爭議，比較像是為了2016年總統大選的政治目的，製造現在政府的困擾。
對於很多人反對M503航路，李彌直問：「你們的解決方案呢？」M503航路已獲得國際民間航空組織（ICAO）同意，而且國際很多航空公司早就向中國大陸反映大陸沿海南北向航路太過擁擠，國際上許多國家都對這條航路的開通表達肯定態度，看不出來有什麼反對的理由，大陸的錯就是未事先向台灣諮商，程序上有瑕疵。
M503情報偵蒐？落伍
至於部分人士擔心大陸可能假借民航機在M503航路進行情報偵蒐，李彌笑說，這是傳統的觀念，現在人造衛星從高空都一覽無遺，東西看得清清楚楚，就連台北飛航情報區的管制雷達都可以看到新疆那邊了，真要情報偵蒐，也不用大費周章地用民航機做幌子。
李彌認為，「革命無膽，民主無亮」，這事再吵下去，只是在製造台灣內部的紛擾，反對的人能去對岸抗議嗎？M503航路對台灣不會有什麼影響，一再反對只會被懷疑是有其他選舉的政治目的。
國際航空運輸協會北亞地區副總裁、IATA駐中國首席代表張保建27日在北京表示，去年大陸旅客因為航班延誤累加起來的等待時間達230年之久。
陸航班延誤損失很大
張保建表示，航路壅塞導致的飛機延誤問題不僅對旅客帶來非常大的不便，也給航空公司帶來巨大的經濟損失。
他還指出，目前大陸航路擁塞的糟糕程度，可從航班65.44%的正點率看出，和其他國家70%至80%的正點率相比，非常低。尤其在大陸長三角至珠三角地區這一帶的航班增長很快，現有的A470航路十分壅塞。
他說，M503航路是一條對外開放的國際性民航航路，該航路的開通和啟用，可以擴大空域通行能力，改善飛行安全、減少航班延誤，對亞太的民航空運是一項利多。
